Almaty International Airport announces the expansion of its international flight network: Thai low-cost carrier Thai AirAsia X, part of the leading Asian airline group AirAsia, is launching regular passenger flights on the Bangkok (Don Mueang Airport, DMK) – Almaty route.
The launch of this new route marks another step in the development of the AirAsia brand’s presence at the largest airport in Central Asia. The first AirAsia Group flights began operating in Almaty in 2024, and the introduction of Thai AirAsia X flights further strengthens the partnership and enhances connectivity between Kazakhstan and Thailand.
Flights on the Bangkok (DMK) – Almaty route will operate four times a week – on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays – using Airbus A330-300 aircraft, each with a seating capacity of 363 passengers.
Thai AirAsia X is recognized as one of the leading low-cost carriers in Southeast Asia, providing affordable long-haul flights. The launch of this new route creates additional opportunities for tourism, business, and cultural travel, while significantly increasing passenger traffic between the two countries.
The introduction of direct regular flights from Bangkok also aligns with Almaty Airport’s strategy to expand its international route network and strengthen its position as the leading hub in the Central Asian region.
