Welcome to Almaty!
Whether you are arriving from abroad or from another city within Kazakhstan, this guide walks you step-by-step through the entire arrival process — from disembarking the aircraft to exiting the airport and beginning your journey in the city.
Follow signs to “arrivals”
After landing, proceed to the terminal: via jet bridge if it is connected to the aircraft, or by bus if disembarking on the apron. International flights arrive at Terminal T2, domestic flights at Terminal T1.
Keep your passport, visa (if required), and arrival documents ready.
Airport staff are available to help guide you through the terminal.
Immigration & passport control
Depending on your nationality and flight origin, you may need to present:
Passport control: Passengers of international flights pass through the e-Gate (available for adult citizens of Kazakhstan) or via officer counters. Domestic passengers proceed directly to the baggage claim area.
A valid passport
Visa or eVisa confirmation (if required)
Customs forms (if applicable)
Collect your luggage
Collect your baggage at the designated carousel in the Baggage Claim area – follow the signs in the arrival hall.
Screens in the baggage hall show which carousel is assigned to your flight.
Assistance is available for oversized, delayed, or damaged bags.
Customs & Declarations
Customs control (for international passengers): Pass through the “green corridor” if you have no items to declare. If you do have items to declare, proceed through the “red corridor” and complete a customs declaration form.
Choose the correct channel before exiting the baggage hall:
• Green Channel – Nothing to declare
• Red Channel – Items requiring declaration
Includes information on duty-free limits, restricted goods, and currency rules.
Enter the arrivals halls
Exit to the public arrivals hall, where you can find taxi counters, currency exchange points, lost and found, and transport connections.
Meeting point
For passengers arriving on international flights is located on the 1st floor of the terminal.
Transportation to the city
You may use the following:
Official taxi from Almaty International Airport
Сity buses that pick up directly from the airport
You may rent a car from the companies located right inside the airport
